E. Hartry (fl.1883-1909) - Framed Late 19th Century Oil, Study of a Horse & Cart

A fine late 19th century oil depicting an idyllic rural landscape with two farm horses pulling a large hay cart. This delightful composition has been wonderfully captured by the artist E. Hartry, and has all the hallmarks of good, classical landscape painting. Wonderfully presented in an ornate, decorative gilt frame with gilt slip. Illegibly inscribed to the reverse. Signed. On board.

Overall the condition is good for a painting of this age. Minor surface marks and craqueleure. Finished with a shiny varnish. Small loss to the moulding of the frame at upper left. Small cracks to the edges and corners of the ornate frame.
