After Ulysse Butin (1838-1883) - 1888 Etching, A Catch at Sea
DescriptionA finely detailed etching after a painting by the French artist Ulysse Butin (1838-1883). The scene is set at sea, with a woman on a fishing vessel, and a child on a smaller rowing boat with a recent catch. Possibly signed 'A. Boilol'. Signed and dated and inscribed. On vellum.
There is even creasing across the surface of the work, and around the edges. There is also three large horizontal creases to the upper half of the picture. The etching has been cropped within the plate lines.
