A delicate late 19th Century etching by the artist William Renison, depicting Ely Cathedral in England. Signed in the lower right hand corner, as shown. Signed. On wove.


The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is a 2cm tear at the top of the picture and a 2cm tear repair at the bottom of the picture. Generally in good condition.

Artist Biography

Glasgow born painter, etcher and engraver who exhibited at the Fine Art Society, Royal Academy, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Hibernian Academy, MAFA, Walker Art Gallery and at the Paris Salon. An etching by Renison entitled 'The Bargate, Southampton' is illustrated in Colour Magazine, December, 1917.
