Rita Greig (1918 - 2011) - Framed 20th Century Oil, Still Life with Wine Bottles

A fine still life from English artist Rita Greig (1918-2011). Working mainly in oils, Greig's paintings are usually small in size, depicting landscapes, still life and interiors as well as figures at village fêtes and carnivals. This wonderful still life, painted in rich, warm colours captures a sumptuous spread of ripe fruits and wine bottles. Greig was an avid exhibitor, she was consequently awarded the Medaille D'argent at Paris Salon and remained a member of the Royal West of England Academy for most of her life. Well presented in a wooden fluted frame with gilt detail. Signed. On board.

In fine condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.
