DescriptionA wonderful French street scene depicting the Saint-Vulfran Collegiate Church, located in the main square of Abbeville. This wonderful snapshot captures the town before it's partial destruction during WWI. Inscribed with the location to the lower right. Signed and dated. On watercolour paper.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor foxing.

Julius M. Delbos was a painter, teacher, and lecturer who was born in London, England in 1879. He was a member of the American Watercolor Society. Delbos had works in numerous exhibitions, including shows at the Corcoran Gallery in 1930 and 1937; the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. Delbos has works in numerous private and public collections, including the Butler Art Institute; the Toledo Museum of Art; the Brooklyn Museum; Yale University Artists Guild; and the New York Public Library.
