After W. Bouguereau - Framed 20th Century Oil, Little Girl Holding Apples
DescriptionA delightful 20th Century portrait of a child in oil, after a painting by the French salon artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905). Bouguereau painted the original in 1895, depicting the young Yvonne, one of his favourite models. Yvonne is immortalised at various stages of her childhood in a succession of Bouguereau's paintings. This work is a charming copy, and would suit an admirer of the original, currently held in a private collection.
Well-presented in a gilt painted ornate wooden frame, as shown.Unsigned. On board.
In fine condition overall. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Some very minor marks to the frame.
