A wonderful mid 20th century oil on board by George Miller. Here the artist has captured an expansive beach scene of the West coast of Scotland, using bright colour to depict the numerous rock pools and sand dunes. Very well presented in a gilt frame with gilt slip. Signed. On board.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and surface dirt. With minor marks to the frame.

Artist Biography
George William Miller, was born at Billericay, Essex on 23 November 1919. Whilst at a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany, taught himself to draw and paint, producing sketches of camp life using whatever materials that became available including labels from Red Cross parcels. After demobilisation he studied at Chelmsford Art College for six months in 1945 and then spent two years at Hammersmith School of Art under Ley Kenyon (1913-1990). George then taught at various art colleges and gained some success as a book illustrator. A founding member of the Saxmundham Art Club, he also had solo exhibitions annually at Aldeburgh.
