John Lawrence (b.1934)
Contemporary Watercolours / £32.40 - £70.48
Sulis Fine Art is pleased to bring you this impressive collection by British artist John Lawrence.

John Lawrence was born in Kent and first made a name for himself in the 1960s designing various advertisement campaigns for well-known brands. His artwork appeared as weekly full-page adverts in many national newspapers. Interestingly, Lawrence was the illustrator of the original 'Big Ben' logo that appears on HP Sauce – an adaptation of which can still be seen on sauce bottles today.
In the artwork shown Lawrence has depicted a group of young boys sat on a harbour wall, surveying the bustling port. With delicate washes of colour this piece is typical of Lawrence's expressive style.
