Description
A charming watercolour painting, attributed to the artist Thomas Miles Richardson. The scene depicts a street view with figures, titled 'The Old Gate, Heidelberg'. There are two labels to the reverse with additional information, such as re-framing date and attribution. Date is inscribed on the reverse. Title inscribed to the lower right-hand corner. Well-presented in a double card mount and in a distressed gilt effect frame.
On watercolour paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and slight surface creasing to the lower left-hand corner. Some scuffing and scratching to the frame.

Artist Biography
Thomas Miles Richardson was the son of T.M. Richardson Senior, from whom he received his training, Thomas Miles Richardson Jnr began his career in Newcastle, sending works to London for exhibition from 1832. Richardson moved to London in 1846, having been elected as an associate of the 'old' Society of Painters in Watercolours in 1843. He was elected a member in 1851. After his death a large quantity of his remaining works were sold at Christie's in 1890. During his life Richardson exhibited at Agnew & Sons Gallery, Walker Gallery Liverpool, Manchester City Art Gallery, and the Royal Society of Watercolour Painters.
