DescriptionA very fine English School watercolour with pencil of a river landscape with figures on a barge. Very likely to be a scene on the Arun, Sussex, with Arundel Castle in the distance. Presented in a washline mount which bears the name of the well listed artist Henry Birtles, and a decorative gilt frame. Unsigned. On wove.
Light foxing present, typical for a picture of this age. There is a 4 cm closed tear to the lower edge, only visible on close inspection. Overall appearance is good.
