DescriptionA late 19th Century chromolithograph of an oil painting by Arthur Alfred Davis (1824-1893), well-known for his depictions of hunting and hounds. This scene shows a large pack of hunting hounds on the chase, with riders in traditional red hunting jackets in the distance. Well-presented in a wide card mount and hardwood frame with gold beading and bone plaque inscribed 'Run to Earth', as shown. Signed and dated to the lower right corner. Signed and dated. On wove.
The lithograph itself is in fine condition. The mount has discolouration and shows some signs of foxing and staining, as shown. The frame has some marks and scuffs typical for its age.
