DescriptionA wonderful graphite sketch from well listed English artist Anton Lock. A gallery label on the reverse reveals it was sold to a 'Sir John Rothenstein' on the 13th July 1985. Lock is listed in The Dictionary of British Artists 1880-1940. Lock was a member of the Royal Academy and Royal Society of British Artists. Signed on the reverse.On wove.

Born in 1893, Anton Lock was a painter, etcher, wood engraver and illustrator. Lock studied at Westminster School of Art from 1910-12. Frequently exhibiting at the Royal Academy and numerous galleries in and around London.
