An interesting interior composition with a stone nude statue, reminiscent of the post-impressionist style favoured by The Camden Town Group. Unsigned. On canvas.


Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. There are four small losses to the paint along the left edge, visible in the accompanying images.

There is no biographical records concerning British artist, Anthony Brown. However his landscapes are highly collectable. Brown’s work can be found in Dorset County Museum in Dorchester. The collection encapsulates Brown’s varied and progressive style, typical of the post-war era. This includes a number of modern still lifes and landscapes that lean towards a more cubist approach.
