DescriptionA wonderful expressive and abstract composition from English artist Anthony Barnard Harris, depicting two lovers embracing with a kiss. Completed in Harris' naive style and in an array of bright, primary colours that have been mixed and blended on the card. Inscribed with the title and with a label for 'Madeleine Shaw Publishers' on the reverse. On thick card. Signed and dated.
Minor scuffing to the edges of the card, otherwise in fine condition.

Painter, who studied at Reading University and then went onto study Art History at the Courtauld Institute of Art. He became Principal of St. Albans School of Art, 1967-75, and Vice-Principal of Chelsea School of Art, 1975-86. In 1982, he was elected Master of the John Ruskin Guild of St. George. 1986 saw him appointed Head of Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts and Assistant Rector of the London Institute. Harris has exhibited widely in London, the provinces and in Italy.
