Description

A naive and abstract study from English artist Anthony Barnard Harris, depicting a young woman walking on a catwalk in an ostentatious blue dress and large yellow hat. The models' breasts are visible through the abstract shaped dress. Acrylic paint and crayon have been expressly applied to the card, creating areas of texture and movement. On thick card. A label for 'Madeleine Shaw Art Dealer' appears on the reverse. Signed and dated.

Condition

Areas of surface dirt, and minor surface marks. Otherwise in fine condition.

Artist Biography

Painter, who studied at Reading University and then went onto study Art History at the Courtauld Institute of Art. He became Principal of St. Albans School of Art, 1967-75, and Vice-Principal of Chelsea School of Art, 1975-86. In 1982, he was elected Master of the John Ruskin Guild of St. George. 1986 saw him appointed Head of Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts and Assistant Rector of the London Institute. Harris has exhibited widely in London, the provinces and in Italy.
