Angelique Bodin - Early 19th Century Sanguine, Young Lady With Dove
DescriptionA fine early 19th Century portrait in conte and sanguine. The young lady has beautifully curled, dark hair and gently holds a graceful turtle dove to her chest as she smiles coyly over her shoulder. The artist has signed to the lower edge and the portrait is on laid with the "De Bois" watermark. The portrait has been handsomely presented in a late 19th Century Hogarth style frame with internal gilt slip. On watermarked laid.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and slight horizontal creasing across the portrait. The frame has losses to the molding on all edges, scuffing to the black lacquer and tarnishing to the gilt.
