DescriptionA vibrant and joyful contemporary oil by the artist Alan Furneaux, depicting a panoramic landscape view of Aldeburgh beach in Suffolk with boats and a small village. This colourful landscape scene is delicately painted and well composed, embodying the coastal atmosphere and characteristics of this particular beach in Suffolk. The artist has depicted three still life objects in the foreground, with the wonderful beach as a background to the floral subjects. A small village can be seen in the distance behind the charming range of boats, which has a distinctly coastal appearance surrounded by trees and the tranquil sea. Signed in the lower right hand corner of the picture and inscribed and dated on reverse, as shown. On canvas on stretchers.
In fine condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.

Alan Furneaux is a painter, born in London, who although attending Reigate Art School at sixteen, music was to be the passion of Furneaux until his late 30’s. However, he returned to painting and held his first solo exhibition in 1990.
Furneaux's commissioned work includes pictures for The Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. He has recently shown at the John Noott Galleries, Broadway and held another solo show in 2001 at London’s City Gallery. Other regular exhibiting venues include Blackheath Gallery, London, the David Curzon Gallery, Wimbledon and the Walker Gallery, Harrogate.
Furneaux is the grandson of the artist George Hann and is also a member of ABNA.
