After Samuel Bellin - Early 20th Century Watercolour, Burnt House, Chigwell
DescriptionA fine and delicate watercolour composition, depicting three young ladies before a large country house, after a painting by Samuel Bellin. The artist has employed a layered palette, with a subtle treatment of light. There is an inscription to the reverse, reading 'Burnt House, Chigwell, Essex. A copy of the original painting by the late Samuel Bellin in 1821'. Well-presented in a brown mount with a gilt effect frame. Unsigned and inscribed. On watercolour paper.
In very good condition for a picture of this age. There is some surface discolouration, as shown. There are also minor losses to the lower corners of the frame, and scuffing to the edges.
