As a watercolorist in the tradition of her heroes, Turner, John Cotman and Constable, she was pre-eminent in the depiction of the dramatic landscape of South Wales, and in particular of Gower, with its brooding skies, sheer cliffs and wild seas.

This week we introduce you to a new collection of very fine and delicate watercolours of fungi by Anna Maria Hussey, some of which are the original drawings for her published 1840s book. We also bring you further additions to our Edwin P. Corin collection of watercolours, a selection of genre scenes in oils by L.e. Evans, plus vibrant 20th Century landscape and figurative watercolours by G. Dickman. Other highlights include new works by Russian artist Saikina Aleksandra Vasilevne and a beautiful watercolor of young girls in a landscape attributed to Myles Birket Foster.
